Originally part of a land grant from Mexico, the rolling hills and flatlands of North Orange County were once used as vineyards and orange groves. The communities feature housing from affordable to expensive multi-million dollar estates, some with views of city lights and the snow covered mountains to the north in winter. The region has excellent schools, beautiful golf courses, numerous sports facilities, saddle clubs, shopping centers, major banks, movie theaters, restaurants, office complexes, public libraries, parks, a reservoir, hiking trails, a twenty mile bike trail along the Santa Ana River, and easy access to Interstate 91 freeway and a new toll road to Irvine.
Attractions include Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Movieland Wax Museum, the Richard Nixon Library and Birthplace, the California Angels baseball club and the Mighty Ducks hockey team. North Orange County also boasts the Anaheim convention center which hosts many large conventions each year.
