Without many people’s dedication to and love of The Arts, the “remarkable achievement” that is the Orange County Performing Arts Center would have never been built. One of the biggest obstacles in the way of its beginning was the land on which it now stands. Luckily, the land was donated by the Sergerstrom family in the late ‘70’s. The Sergerstrom’s have continued to offer their support and most recently donated another piece of land in 1999 that will host the space needed for the South Coast Repertory expansion project, new venues and a visual arts campus.
Henry T. Sergerstrom stated, "In its cultural impact, the Orange County Performing Arts Center stands alone as Orange County’s single most remarkable achievement in its first 100 years of history. Born from the people for the benefit of its citizenry and future generations, The Center grew from a crucible of human emotional need -- to provide for replenishment and enrichment of the intellect and spirit within our society."
Nurturing our future generation’s appreciation and love of the Arts, the Center continues to offer its hands in educating the children and adults of Orange County. They’ve already reached close to two million people throughout Orange County.
Residents of Orange County had no idea the integral role the Center would play in their future lifestyles. From Broadway, Ballet, Symphonies and more, the OC Performing Arts Center lends the beautiful world of Art, Music and Culture to all who visit.
