Let the Bowers Museum whisk you away on a journey through cultures of the past and present! Their exceptional exhibits of art and culture help promote acceptance and understanding among differing societies.
Their international partnerships have paved the way to include such exhibits as Mummies: Death and the Afterlife in Ancient Egypt and Tibet: Treasures from the Roof of the World. These are two of the Bowers Museum most recent exhibits. Mummies: Death and the Afterlife in Ancient Egypt, is currently on loan to Bowers until April 2007. This is the “largest collection of mummies and coffins to ever leave British Museum.” This particular collection is said to be of superior quality including 14 mummies and coffins. As an enthusiastic fan of Egyptian culture, past and present, I encourage all to visit the Bowers Museum for this one-of-a-kind experience.

Laguna Beach has long been world renowned with its incredibly gorgeous coastline views but also as a haven for the artistic and eccentric natured. The Laguna Art Museum is no exception. It thrives on diversity and augments interest in the “pop culture” phenomenon of tattooing, surfing and cars. They also focus on Californian paintings.
Most recently, the Museum hosted a re-configuration of the iconic works of Surf Culture—The Art History of Surfing. The first exhibition of Surf Culture—The Art History of Surfing appeared at the Laguna Art Museum in the summer of 2002. Its enormous success lead to the decision to bring a similar but unique exhibit called, Surf Culture Redux.

Driving past the Discovery Science Center, you can’t miss their 10 story Solar Cube that sits on one point. Using the power of the sun with state-of-the-art solar panels, the Cube actually provides the Science Center with some of its power. A spectacular site to see at night, its edges light up and leaves all wondering… how’d they do that?
The Cube, however, is only a small part of what makes the Science Center so special. Take a deep breath and travel into the walls of the Center for a mathematical and scientific experience like none other.
The human perception area is where your day will begin and challenge you in ways you will find amusing and strange! The Quake Zone will teach you facts about earthquakes and offer a chance to experience what a real earthquake feels like in the Shake Shack. My personal favorite area of Discovery Science Center is the new Techno Arts theme. The Laser Harp and Shadow Garden are extraordinary displays of the human imagination.
